I have been loving #thevegan8 's cashew cream, and know that cashews are often used in cheese sauces for vegans, so I decided I'd try it out.
Well, I was not upset! Even some of my co-workers, vegan and non, really enjoyed!
Here are the simple steps:
Add about a tablespoon of cashew cream (1 cup cashews and 1/2 cup of water pulsed together in a food processor- after the cashews have soaked for about 6 hours- or use boiling hot water for about 30 minutes).
Mix in 1 or 2 teaspoons of water and 1 or 2 teaspoons of cashew milk.
Add in 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, and then a pinch of turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix all of the ingredients together in a pan; mix till it becomes smooth. Then add in 1-2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast.
Serve warm & enjoy!
